Sue Stonehouse
Beacon & Bents
Sue Stonehouse became South Tyneside’s second Green Party councillor in Beacon & Bents when she was elected to represent the ward in May 2021.
“My working history has varied, from being a post-woman to thirty years in customer service, management and training, then my last two years as a care worker, in a private nursing home. South Shields has changed over the years. Residents are not being consulted about changes to the town. After retiring at sixty five, I am free to support their needs.
I’m out all year round, listening to residents on their doorstep and in regular open surgeries with Cllr David Francis. People tell us they want reliable public transport, a clean, safe environment with decent housing and most of all, the respect they deserve. As some council members have forgotten, being a councillor is being a servant of the people.”
